1. FRANCIS NEWTON4 SCOTT (JESSE3, ANDREW2, WILLIAM1) was born July 30, 1822 in Fairfield, Rockbridge County, Virginia, and died August 23, 1885 in Indianapolis, IN. He was baptized by Rev. Wm. Hadsan (Hassan) at Old Timber Ridge Church, Rockbridge County, Virginia. In the Civil War, he was Asst. QuarterMaster, 8th Reg Indiana Volunteer Infantry. He was in the battle of Cotton Plant; served some six months, then returned home on account of poor health. His occupations as listed in the Richmond and Indianapolis city directories were book keeper and salesman. He is buried in Earlham Cemetery, Richmond, IN. His tombstone reads Francis Newton Scott b. 7-30-1822 d. 8-23-1885, 63y-24d.

He married MASSY ELLEN WIGGINS June 12, 1846 in Rush County, IN, daughter of DAVID WIGGINS and ANNA KNETZNER. She was born January 17, 1821 in Mason County, Kentucky, and died November 23, 1914 in Toledo, Lucas, OH (Cert #61714). She was buried November 25, 1914 in Richmond, IN.

His occupation was listed as candy maker for Daggett & Co. in the 1876 and 1879 Indianapolis City Directories. He was buried March 22, 1923 in Earlham Cemetery, Richmond, IN.
v.MARTHA JANE SCOTT, b. December 1856; d. May 07, 1931, Wayne Co, Indiana. She never married, and was enumerated with sisters in Toledo, OH and Schenectady, NY in the 1900 and 1920 census (respectively). She was buried in Earlham Cemetery, Richmond, IN.
vi.LUELLA SCOTT, b. February 09, 1860, Richmond, Wayne County, IN; d. July 03, 1860, Richmond, Wayne County, IN. She was buried in Earlham Cemetery, Richmond, IN.

2. ALONZO FRANCIS5 SCOTT (FRANCIS NEWTON4, JESSE3, ANDREW2, WILLIAM1) was born August 20, 1847 in Henry County, IN, and died February 05, 1931 in New Paris, Preble, OH. During the Civil War, he enlisted in Co I, 124th Reg Ind Vol Inf, Dec., 1863 and served until Sept. 1865; he was in the battles of Kenesaw Mountain, Ga., and Kinston, N.C. He married REBECCA JEAN SWAIN April 17, 1872 in Preble County, OH, daughter of DURAL SWAIN and JANE KENNEDY. She was born April 17, 1849 in Jefferson Twp, Preble County, OH, and died September 21, 1906 in New Paris, Jefferson Twp, Preble County, OH. They are buried in Spring Lawn cemetery, New Paris, Ohio.

3. MARY ELIZABETH5 SCOTT (FRANCIS NEWTON4, JESSE3, ANDREW2, WILLIAM1) was born April 1849 in Indiana, and died August 29, 1903. She married EDWIN S. COFFIN September 15, 1868 in the 1st Presbyterian Church, Richmond by L. W. Chapman, recorded in Wayne County, IN (C-J 170). He was the son of JESSE COFFIN and EMILY JANNEY. He was born April 22, 1845 in Martinsville, Clinton County, OH, and died June 03, 1931 in Toledo, Lucas, OH. He served in the Civil War from 17 May 1864 to 05 September 1864, as a Private in Company A, 133rd Infantry Regiment Indiana. They are buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Toledo, Lucas, OH. His will was filed on June 8, 1931 in Toledo, Lucas, OH.

4. ANNA ELIZA5 SCOTT (FRANCIS NEWTON4, JESSE3, ANDREW2, WILLIAM1) was born January 1852 in Indiana, and died Aft. 1920. She married THEODORE EDWIN BUTTON January 31, 1871 in Marion County, IN (Book 11, Page 286), son of LYSANDER BUTTON and ABIGAIL RANNEY. He was born December 16, 1844 in Cohoes, NY, and died February 22, 1905. His will was recorded in Schenectady, Vol O, page 544.

She was born March 04, 1874 in Indiana, and died December 25, 1941 in Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, OH (#3197). They are buried in Spring Lawn Cemetery, New Paris, Preble, OH.

He was a Corporal in Company F, 37th Separate Company of Schenectady, Washington Continentals during the Spanish-American War. He married ELLA CRITTENDEN HALE July 30, 1917, daughter of EDWARD HALE and MINNA C. She was born July 08, 1887 in Cranford, Union, NJ, and died February 1974.
