She married (1) JAMES SCOTT October 07, 1815 in Rockbridge County, VA, son of ANDREW SCOTT and NANCY THOMAS. He died Abt. July 1818. She married (2) JOHN REID January 21, 1819 in Rockbridge County, VA by Rev. Andrew Herron, Presbyterian. He was born September 06, 1793, and died August 26, 1855. They are buried in Earlham Cemetery, Richmond, IN (S5). According to a letter written by their daughter, there were several other children in this family.

3. JANE3 SCOTT (WILLIAM2, WILLIAM1) was born 1797 in Ireland. She married JOHN T. SMITH June 12, 1821 in Rockbridge County, VA. He was born 1795 in Ireland, and died October 17, 1856 in Richmond, Wayne, IN.

DAVID T. SMITH, attorney at law and justice of the peace, Bluffton, was born in Wayne County, this State, about 1830, and moved to Bluffton about 1857, when there were in the neighborhood of half a dozen other lawyers in the place. For one term he filled the position of district attorney of the Common Pleas Court, being elected to that office just previous to the war. In 1879 he was elected mayor of Bluffton, and served in that capacity one term of two years. At the next election thereafter he was chosen to his present office, to which he was re-elected in 1885. He is also secretary of the Short-horn Breeders' Association. Office in the Williamson Block.

She was born 1826 in Florida, and died between 1850 and 1860. He returned to Indiana after her death, and lived with his sister Margaret Scott Sayre and her daughter Kate off and on until his death. After their marriage they lived in Carroll County, IN and in Greencastle, Putnam, IN after his death, and later with her son William in Richmond, and her daughter Kate in Delaware County, Indiana. She married JOHN COCHRANE May 20, 1841 in Allen County, IN (Book 1-B, Page 289), son of BENJAMIN COCHRANE and ELIZABETH LONGMUIR. He was born January 1, 1810 in Ayrshire, Scotland, and died March 09, 1891 in Fort Wayne, Allen, IN (SCH-5 5). He was a Building Contractor and part-owner of Cochrane & Humphreys. He was elected in 1857 to the Ft. Wayne Board of Health, and in May 1867 as Alderman, 5th Ward, Ft. Wayne, IN.

i.MARGARET5 COCHRANE, b. July 1845; d. May 08, 1930. She was a teacher and school principal in Ft. Wayne. She and her sister, Agnes (Jennie) spent their summers traveling together, visiting their sisters in Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin. They also took an extended trip to California in 1917 and to the east coast in 1907. Their travels were regularly recorded in the Ft. Wayne Newspaper society columns.

17. SARAH MANSUR5 REID (WILLIAM SCOTT4, LETITIA3 SCOTT, WILLIAM2, WILLIAM1) was born February 05, 1852 in Indiana, and died May 14, 1941. She married BENJAMIN BARNEY MYRICK, JR. August 13, 1873 in Wayne County, IN (Book K; Page 453), son of BENJAMIN B. MYRICK and LYDIA R. MYRICK. He was born March 6, 1852 in Philadelphia, PA, and died July 1920. They are buried in Earlham Cemetery, Richmond, IN (S3).

[Sarah Mansur Reid] is a descendant of Mercy Mirick Mansur, daughter of John Myrick, born 1614. Benjamin Myrick came to Richmond, Ind., from Philadelphia, with his parents, in 1857. Was educated in the public schools of Richmond; by profession is a book-keeper. For twelve years was deputy in the office of County Auditor and County Treasurer; afterward individual book-keeper in the First National Bank, and has been paying teller in both the First and the Second National Banks of Richmond; at present is individual book-keeper in the Second National Bank. He is an elder in the United Presbyterian church, secretary of Pythian Temple Association, Knights of Pythias, and is a member of Richmond Lodge, F. & A. M.; with the exception of two years spent in Dakota and Minnesota, has lived all his life in Richmond. (Source: Merrick Genealogy)
