Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Stanley and Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Shepard drove over to Greenwood, Sunday to see Mrs. John Green, who started for San Antonio, Texas, Monday in search of health.
C. F. Shepard left Monday, on two weeks trip to San Antonio and other Texas points.

Word has been received that L. B. Stanley had died at his home in Collinwood, Ohio, Sunday morning, March 7, and was laid to rest on March 10th, in the Northfield cemetery, just a few miles from the home of his birth. Mr. Stanley came to Nebraska in 1867, and took a homestead west of Ashland. He built a snug grout cottage, then went back to Ohio and was united in marriage to Elizabeth Anna Ballou. They moved onto their homestead and for a number of years resided in this state. The greater part of Mr. Stanley's life was spent in public contracting, his work reaching out over the central states and Canada. Mr. Stanley was of an old Methodist family and died in that faith. He was a veteran of the Civil war. He united with the Masonic lodge in 1864. Funeral services were held from his late home. He leaves to mourn his going, his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Norris Thomas of Collinwood, O., and A. B. Stanley, of Ashland, Nebr.
